In cases where early diagnosis cannot be made and it is obvious that the time of drug treatment has passed or it will not be beneficial, surgical treatment is in question.

In cases where the pregnancy located outside the uterus causes internal bleeding in the early or later period depending on the location, or in cases where there is no benefit from the treatment with medication, surgical treatment may be necessary. By determining the location of the ectopic pregnancy in the abdominal cavity, bleeding is stopped and the ectopic pregnancy material is subjected to various surgical procedures.

Surgical treatment is possible with laparoscopic surgery. However, in cases where laparoscopic approach is not possible or carries risks, open surgery is preferred.

The width of the surgery to the tubes is determined by the damage to the tubes and the patient’s desire to become pregnant in the future. Complete removal of the damaged tube, partial removal, repair of the damaged area by opening the tubes and closing them again or leaving them open are among the surgical options.
